REMEMBERING PEARL HARBOR – DECEMBER 7-8, 2019

Please join us in remembering Pearl Harbor Day on Saturday, December 7 from 10 am to 4 pm hosted by the museum and Sunday, December 8 from noon to 3 pm hosted by Valerie’s House.

We’ll have special exhibits and special guests as well as refreshments.

Meet the son of Boortz, Sr. — author, former attorney and renowned syndicated radio talk show host, Neal Boortz, Jr.

Sunday & Monday, November 10 & 11, 2019,  12 Noon

Performing both Sunday and Monday at 12 Noon, Steve Smith will sing “Welcome Home” a song he wrote in honor of his father’s service and the lackluster welcome he received upon returning home from Vietnam.

Wayne Smith
Wayne graduated from Air Force Academy in 1965. He served as a pilot in Vietnam from 1966 until he was shot down on his 90th mission over North Vietnam in 1968. Wayne was held at the Hanoi Hilton for 5 years and was finally released in March 1973.

After the war, Wayne flew Bowing 727 for Eastern Airline for a short period of time and became executive of several very successful chemical and energy companies.

Art Matson
Art is the son of Duff Matson who severed with a group of the First Special Service Forces (FSSF) members known as the “Devil’s Brigade” during WWII. (Hollywood made the movie “the Dirty Dozen” dramatizing stories on some of the “criminal soldiers” of the unit members.) Duff Matson was the bodyguard of the FSSF commander, General Robert Frederick. The book, “The Devil’s Bodyguard” detailed his service during WWII and many successful businesses after leaving the military.
